I know I should get a spore print but just wondering if anyone has an idea based on thye pics and this bit of info.

Habitat: On someones lawn; Growing in a huge patch and in a trashed area of the lawn.

Gills: White/Beige

Step: White and Beiege; Looks almost ropeish

Notice: IM aware that without a sporeprint you can't give a 100% ID; Just asking for posibilities. I want to find out as soon as possible if there is any chance these are psychoactive so I can go back.

As I said; these are on someones lawn and will probably be cut down soon.

There is a spore print on its way but I just started it now. Have to wait a few hours.

Stem: Whitish, pretty fragile, slightly enlarged at base. 2cm wide.

Cap: Brown/White

Spore print color: Non ATM

Bruising: Not Sure

Location: Ohio

Doesn't sound good.

Most magic mushrooms will have a very distinct bruising that appears after picking on damaged or fragile parts (can be a blue/purple to blue/green to almost pure green color). And the gills are usually a purple/blue color, also on most psilocybe mushies the stem is very fibrous and brown in the middle. Im no expert but i say they are non-active. Genus unknown to me.

Without a spore print there are lots of possibilities.

cactu has one of the obvious ones - Psathyrella.

Given how fibrous that cap looks, another would be Inocybe.

In any case, those do not look enough like any active species for you to bother too much with (if that's your only interest in them). They also don't look enough like any of the good edible mushrooms to bother with for that reason.

Happy mushrooming!

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.
