what are you refering to by X-10.....is sounds just what im looking for. i did a google search and found a bunch of crap. what is the exact product you are refering to..... are you useing the fire cracker kits sold by them??

X-10 is a home automation system which sends signals through your homes electrical wiring to turn appliances on or off. Appliances have to be plugged into a control module which is plugged into the outlet. A controller (stand-alone or computer based) is used to set schedules or complicated series of relays. (ex: I program it so that at 6:00 pm, the lights in the living room come on only if the washing machine is running so that when I come home, the lights will be on if somebody was doing my laundry while I was driving home..) X10 is neat and fun, but IMO not the best solution for home automation. It is cheap and easy though and a great scheduler for cultivators not wanting more advanced homes.
