so i got a straw log sittin on my shelf with some plastic draped loosely over it. saw my first pins about 7 days ago, and yet hyphal knots and subsequently pins are still being formed. the pins that have been growing for a week are only about an inch high(!!). most people seem to have full-grown fruits in 5 days. would imagine it being AT LEAST another 2 weeks before the first set is done, and probably another week for the rest to finish
so 5 days as compared to my 4 weeks on one flush... something seem waaaay off, what could i be doing wrong?

Are Humidity and FAE correct? I find that when my pins grow slowly if I increase FAE and decrease humidity very very slightly they grow much faster

It sounds like the log has dried out. If so, try injecting water directly into the straw log with a syringe. RR

that is certainly not the case. i dunked for 12 hours before birthing, and a good deal of moisture is collecting on the plastic that is draped over it.
any other ideas? could it just be a naturally slow fruiter?

more FAE. When I see my pins slowing their growth I leave the casing uncovered overnight. The evaporation of water off the casing seems to stimulate growth.
