possible cyans in backyard

this was a small patch behind the fence in my backyard about a week ago. these little things were growing on woody pile of debris as you can see in the picture. at the time I was just wandering around looking for good pics of some mushrooms and just now I decided to research actives that could be in my area.
by now they're pretty much dead and black, but from this, could they have been cyans? are there species that are close lookalikes?

From my opinion they are just a look alike. Cyans are yellow in the middle and brownish on the outside. There also lightly blue on the stem and the gills are cinnamon brown, becoming deep smoky brown.
Defiantly not cyans to me.

I dunno. The underside of the cap looks a little more brown than I usually see. I'm not sure. I'd definately look for blueing, and spore print them before I tried them.(I always do anyways...)

ahhh shit!!
right now I really wish I had read up and at least looked at a few pictures of actives before going out and looking for what I thought actives would look like.
these are quite literally in my backyard. there's a pile of wood, sticks, twigs etc, soggy particle board, poopy cat litter, and bits of garbage here and there and those were in the middle of it.
i didn't think they'd be so close to my backyard so I thought they were just more LBMs or something

I'd seek professional help from someone who knows how to identify them if I were you. They still don't look anything like a cyan to me except for the wavy cap. =/ And the stems are a little to short and don't get any thicker at the bottom.

You're reading a professionals opinion on these very photos from a book??
Not everyone is, but there are certainly folks here in this forum who are qualified to make positive identifications.
