i mean i understand your a pretty big star and all, but that dude seems soo full of himself.
lol - that was all the duo's fault. Bob ended his last song - and was getting ready for an encore (it's bob weir, at all good, of course there's going to be an encore) - and the duo drummer started wailing (got a false "Go-ahead"), and was playing too loudly to hear bob telling him to stop.
i lost it when (after the drumming continued, un-mic'd) bob said "fuck it, battle of the bands".
hahahahahha priceless

actually it was def bob's fault. ratdog was supposed to be over a solid 30 minutes b4 they played there last song, and then they did the encore which made them end almost a full hour late.
this pushed back the rest of the night, sts9 was on till like 5am. which isnt a bad thing. just saying.
the fog that night was unreal, i couldnt see a few feet in front of my face, seriously.

My mind wasn't working well when I wrote that, Claypool dominates my airwaves 9 times out of 10 anyways, I should probably broaden my horizons. Railroad Earth
I've been playing my own music a lot lately, I have a few fancy shmancy hand flares that make some cool noises.

Yassss, I like stepping outside.
Only I feel like I'm still ripping off Claypools groove and musically masturbating most of the time. I've been reading The Guitar Grimoire Fretboard Logic & The Principles of Correct Practice for Guitar and writing some fairly interesting(tomsyself) stuff, my range and technique are broadening but I wind up throwing away or burning most of what I write because I find it embarrassing

yeah everyone thinks that about there own lyrics. iv been saving some good ideas. u playin bass adom? im still workin on developing a recognisable style. thats really where claypool shines. he just in it 24/7 one of the greaater show men of the last 100 years i think.
i need people who dont have to stop and ask me the key or what i just played, i need band mates who get the osmosis of musical creation. listen, then play what you hear

I know I have to get over myself and start being open to more criticism if I ever want to be recognized as an artist. It's a long continues process that is never ending, but I like that idea, I don't believe in contentment in anything more than a moment.
I mostly play a 6 string acoustic and a djembe, sometimes I go hang out with the metal heads and play an electric music man 4 string bass, Gibson Les Paul or an ESP. They taught me how to slap and play really fast with coordination and I taught one of them how to put up the bars and predict future notes. One guy keeps telling me I can't do this or that but he's tone deaf and shouldn't be allowed to touch anything but a drum
I've never spent any of my money as wisely as I have on Les Claypool.

Who can argue with this man, I would like to add up the dollars I've spent travelling to see and purchasing his art.

I need that book, shit I keep forgetting.
I seen him in 2000 on his first Frog Brigade Tour and I've never been the same. I've seen several incarnations of the Frogs since. The Gaba Lala version at 10k in 05 takes the cake, he came out in an Ape suit for the encore and beat the living hell right out of whamola.
I seen him at with Primus at Veterans Hall, an awesome areana for a band like Primus on the Tour De Fromage I don't think he's feet touched the floor all night and again at Bonnaroo on the Hallicino-Genetics tour.
He's everything awesome.
