Hey all,
I need some good calming, happy music. Something that will put you into a good mood. I dont know why but whenever i listen to music with lyrics trippin i dont like it, strange.
I'm lookin for something like Shpongle-Divine Moments of Truth, like nature sounds mixed with instruments.....basically more music exactly like Divine moments of truth.
Anyone know some song that fit roufly in my specs? Any other great songs from Shpongle?
Merry trippin Fd

I highly recommend listening to Amoeba. The music is calm, ambient, and introspective. I owned it, and found it tripping one time. Put it on, it was absolutely amazing! Perfect for tripping. The band even has links on their site to information about magic mushrooms.
I just have the Watchful album. Highly recommended for tripping! http://www.amoeba.com/

Try some Orbital. Or definitely Pink Floyd, or maybe Lateralus by Tool. Surrender by Chemical Brothers is a nice calm album. I prefer borderline insanity music these days, like Mr Bungle, Devin Townsend and Dog Fashion Disco.

In reply to:

Sorry if this is sorta off-topic, but I think this is important.
Not including commercial music like Backstreet Boys, Linkin Park, Korn, etc..., if you really like music you should buy it.
Downloading music does not support the artist in any way. What kind of fan doesn't support the artist? Without support, bands won't release that next album, they won't go out on tour.
Support real music. It angers me that I take my time to buy albums, and then just some lazy, cheap person comes along downloading the album (which doesn't sound close to as good as the real album) and claims to be a fan.

Umm well bands get a fuck load of cash from promotions and appearances, like 10 times more than they get from their album sales. Like 70% of the sales go to the record company and some of the rest goes on expences.
Besides if i have never heard it before why would i buy it, so i can hate it and be stuck with it? Why would i, a poor man support the multi-millionare artist, he should support me im the poor one.....that sonofabitch!
Why pay when you dont have to..... Fd

I download tunes, then if it's good, I'll put it on my "to buy" CD list. Once I've done that, I'll delete the mp3s. If I don't like it, I just delete the mp3s and keep looking. Yesterday I just bought a whole bunch of cds that I only had on mp3 and so now I'm happy

Man, it may not be "happy" music per se, but i would reccommed:
Sigur Ros - most of their stuff, but get "Svefn-g-englar" first. Yo la tengo- Damage (yes has lyrics, but its still worth a listen!)

Id suggest any type of drum & bass. Try looking around for LTJ Bukem, Squarepusher (phat shit I might add), Big Bud etc...
If you want more chaotic, harder stuff... Look into Gabber (it's a style of electronic music). I love Gabber whem im tripping.

You have got to listen to Ravi Shankar sometime while tripping. So far, in my experience, his music is my favorite to listen to while tripping. The sound of a sitar just sets it right off. Good ole Indian music!

Along those lines...uh, Does anybody know music that sounds Egyptian? The King of music they play in the background of those History Channel Egypt Shows. I don't know why but I'm drawn to ancient cultures.
Do you think if I had that music playing while tripping it would get me thinking about ancient civilizations and past lives?

I'm afraid I don't know any real fluid classical egyptian artists. I tried downloading some authentic egyptian music off of kazaa, but all I came up with was techno, trance, and the sort. Go to a nearby music store and see if they have a foriegn section. Of course, then you may find yourself stuck with a cd doesn't particularly match you interest. Another type of music you may find interesting is spanich flamenco guitar...really great stuff. Or, maybe even some intrumental bluegrass music (the banjo is nearly orgasmic while shrooming IMO). I have a CD called Pickin' on Jerry Garcia. It consits of a few Grateful Dead songs (lyric free) composed with bluegrass intruments. Pretty trippy stuff in my opinion.
I also don't care much for lyrical music while tripping. And yes, I'm positive it'd make you think about ancient cultures, among other things. And no, you're not wierd for wanting to do so.
Peace, Alatore

For a CALM, HAPPY, LYRIC FREE music I suggest you to find :
"La voie de l'esprit" from Eric Aron. It's really the king of album you want if you plan to trip and travel very confortably at the same time.
It's definetively my favorite CD to feel safe and meditate. For more information PM me! .. or go there : http://www.ericaron.com/ (and yes, it's french!).

Search up John Butler Trio's "Ocean" or "Under An Indian Sky"
Enya is good, so is Afro Celt Sound System, though they aren't vocalless, they're relaxing, natural, good music.
For some trippier stuff go look of Ozric Tentacles, their an instrumental band that a friend of mine said "is like what I feel on acid, but as music!" (Showed him the song Sploosh while we were on 2 hits of good blotter and a cap of E each)

Mine too! Highly recommended!
I'd suggest you to get some Air. 10000Hz Legend and Moon Safari are pretty much my favorite albums to listen while tripping.
The Cinematic Orchestra is awesome too.
Also Vibrasphere should set you in the right mood.

Air.
French electronica duo, who I'm currently obsessed with listening to while under the influence.

Arovane
Amon Tobin
Violet Arcana (some lyrics, mostly spoken word)
Boards of Canada
Eat Static
The Go! Team (they're exceptionally bright and cheery)
Future Sound of London
Hybrid
The latest Juno Reactor CD (Labyrinth-- I like all their stuff but this one seems exceptionally trip-friendly)
Paul Mauriat (you laugh, but muzak is surprisingly fun in this context, especially 70's muzak)
ANY OF THE SILENT HILL OSTs. Another case of 'laff if you want' but the tracks in 2, 3 and Origins are all incredibly atmospheric.

Something I just discovered that I had never heard before is The Dub Side of the Moon. Reggae cover of the Floyd album. I like it.

mmm yes, capsula for sure. entheogenic is one my current favorites. younger brother's new CD "the last days of gravity" is really good, but it gets kinda weird.
listen to some kindzadza if you want some lyric-less full on music heh.
