how long till the first sign of mycelium growth?

i just inoculated some brf cakes for the first time. its been like 4 days and there isnt any sign of growth. is this normal? how long does it usually take for the first sign?

i mean i did man. i think i might not have let the needle cool long enough before each jar. i sterilized after each jar and used alcolhol. i just dont know.

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

between 3-10 days, all of my jars have shown myc growth by day 3 or 4, but its not uncommen for it to take much longer.

It all depends on many things like temperature, strain, how well u got your pf cake mix etc

So i wouldnt worry yet until at least another week.

The needle being too hot shouldnt be an issue, even if it was the very first few drops of solution would have cooled the needle combined with sticking it into the substrate.

When sterilising the needle u can simply wait a few seconds for it to cool down a little then inject into your substrate.

If u are really worried then simply use an alcohol soaked swab to wipe the needle and cool it.
