Vicks V400 Humidifier Mod

I have a Vicks V400 Model Humidifier that I will be modifying pretty soon with 0.5" diameter PVC pipe and elbows for a fairly large FC. Does anyone have any suggestions for covering up the original vapor outlet holes? I'd like to do it with something a little better than just some duct tape, but can't think of anything at the moment.
Any general tips/suggestions about modifying humidifiers(particularly V400 model If you have it) are appreciated. Thanks.

I was thinking about either that or some kind of polyfill, but I didn't want it to drip down it the water chamber while I was doing the patchwork
Might work, though.

Maybe you can squirt out a patch of silicone on a paper or something, and then place your humidifier on it, upside down - holes against silicone. That way it will dry without dripping inside. Then just drag the paper off when it's dry.

Maybe not a piece of paper though, maybe more like a sheet of plastic or something.

Hot glue was my other idea (but I don't think it would be as good as silicon.)

Any particular reason you are straying away from duct tape? It is easy and works perfectly.

If you insist on piping the unit in, you should use 4" dryer duct and place it over the original opening. If you modify the unit, it will fail within a month or two due to back pressure ruining the motor bushings, and you can't return it to the store for credit. RR

After taking into consideration what RR said and you still want to mod it, I would just fiberglass that monstrous hole.

Not good In that case I don't insist on the mod, I just don't have time for hand-misting that's all. Would you suggest I just stick the humidifier itself inside the FC? It's fairly large (4' across for holding multiple monotubs, cakes, etc.), perhaps I could just stick it in the corner?

In light of what RR has said about the humidifier breaking I may end up just sticking it in the corner of the FC and skip the PVC mod.

I used clear poly tape. Worked good

I just put mine in my greenhouse. I used a $2 flexible gutter elbow over the intake to pipe fresh air in from the room. It works like a charm and I never have to think twice about FAE

I've been recommending to place cool mist humidifiers inside the greenhouse for years. RR
