they are very cool but how would they work with cakes? or is it only for bulk?

bulk isn't nearly as hard as you think it is.

all you have to do is buy some pre-pasteurized horse manure
from a shroomery sponsor i.e. poo and mix it with your cakes.

you can break your cakes up into small pieces and either layer
the pieces with the poo or just mix them in.

easy as that.

you'll be very, very glad you did.

wouldn't this work with bulk? and do you still have to mist everyday?

??

wouldn't what work with bulk??

and no.
monotubs never get misted.
they ONLY get opened to harvest and rehydrate (dunk or whatever).

so no misting, no fanning, none of that stuff. did you read the
links I posted?
please go back and read them.

wow...

I guess I'll say it again for you...

no.

there is NO misting involved in a proper monotub.
none.
zero.

unless you're misting to rehydrate between flushes instead of dunking...

monotubs have to stay closed.
no misting.
no fanning.

no misting.
none.

and no, not really

your design will not work with "bulk" growing methods so well.

small perlite chambers like that are for cakes.

ah, that pic brought back memories of childhood drawings...

Though your on the right track with regards to this idea, and I think it's great that you were able to think this up, somebody already invented it(I think TheShroomy1 did).

You've basically got the idea down, and it works great as a FC for cakes. I made one based on TheShroomy1's design, and it works great.

cubensis.

pans like different conditions.
mainly thinner substrates and casings and higher FAE.

any cubensis will do well in a monotub or double tub.
you can trust me on that one.

they all work perfectly well.
for the 21 gallon monotub pictured, it takes about 10lb of
pasteurized manure and 5lb of cakes or so. not sure how many
cakes that is. but that's an easy way to figure it.
you could do like 2lb of cakes and 13lb manure, but if you order
it in 5lb increments, then 10lb is the way to go.

just break up the cakes and mix them with the manure.
level it out.
close the tub.
that's it.

it's really very, very simple.
no need to make it hard.

pick any strain you want. they all work in monotubs.
just make sure you pick a cubensis.

for random suggestions I would say EQ or PE.

how do you mix yours you use bags? do you place the colonized cakes across the top of the manure? or mix it all together? 4 one quart spawn jar or so. sorry bit of a perfectionest just don't want to fuck up.

Has anyone produced large flushes of cyanesence or azuresence just curious everything i have heard aboutit is small flushes.....outdoor beds only? curious thanks

jesus, you're all over the place.

Monotubs are for Cubensis!!
they are not for cyans or azures.
Psilocybe cyanescens and Psilocybe azurescens are woodloving outdoor species.
Panaeolus (Copelandia) cyanescens are dung loving and can
grow indoors at higher temps, but not in a monotub.

unless you just group random off topic questions together...
which I'm actually guessing is the case here.
if you want to ask about woodlovers, do so in a different thread.
outdoor growing.

and it doesn't matter how you mix the manure and cakes.
you don't even need to mix them.
you could set the cakes in the tub and just fill around them with
manure.
you can even mix it all up with your bare hands and not worry
very much. it's so, so, so simple.

you can just dump the manure into the tub, dump the broken up
cakes into the tub, mix right there, level it out, and close up the tub.
done deal.

it really is that easy, I promise you.
if you hear of poor monotub grows, those people aren't following
the directions.
