quick question about jar sterilization
    #7557725 - 10/25/07 01:08 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

I don't have a pressure cooker but i do have a commercial grade steamer. I searched how to sterilize with one but i found mixed instructions.
When i steam them should the tops be on?
how long should i steam them?
upside down or right side up?
how to cool them down?

also, i am starting the cakes in a place down the block. Is it possible to transport them from the steamer to the place where i'm growing? maybe in a box or something? (the location of the steamer isn't clean enough to start the process)
another option would be to bring the jars upstairs and set up the cakes and spores and take those to the other house to grow. Too much danger of contamination?

and yeah this is my first grow

thanks for the help

Use the search,

It would be better to transfer the steamer to the place where you are going to inoculate, less risk of contams.
