Sound's like a bacterial contamination but its abit soon for that if you just finished pc'ing.... not quite sure what to make of your situation.

I thought that for a sec but then said no way, how could there possible be contams right after PC'ing?

Ive had smelly jars straight out of my PC before also.
I narrowed the possible causes to the tape I used to cover the holes and I didn't use vinegar in the PC water

Let them cool down overnight and smell them again. If the smell is gone, then you now know what Pc'd verm and BRF smell like. If it's not gone, then you got something else going on. It's not contamination. It has to be something else in the mix.

Keeps the jars from getting stained. I read it in the PC's manual

Anyways I doubt it was bacterial contam because I would have noticed abnormal splotches or wet spots in the jar, plus it was covered tightly in foil with the jar lid on up until inoculation. I even inoculated with the foil still on(micropore tape underneath) then used an exacto knife to trace the inner circumference of the jar lid and cut the foil circle out and yanked the side wrap pieces out. There's no way contams could have gotten into that jar....

Oh hell, I didn't realize you had already inoculated. By the way... There is always a way for contams to get into the jars. Those buggers are microscopic. They can squeeze themselves in places we can't LOL!
