No, it's not really that trippy. It's just really cool because it's a meeting between the kings of the east coast and west coast sixties acid scenes. Ken Kesey (west coast) meets Timothy Leary (east coast) shortly before Leary dies. It's very groovy.

it was good! a lil short, but the beauty of it being short, and not extremely informative, was it left me wanting to learn more about Leary, and Kesey and the Merry Pranksters. Pioneers. where are they all at today?

its kinda cool, how Leary got started in all this was eating a shroom! another thing that was cool, is the thing that we all spend so much time on now, is something that he recognized as a new wave for the future. he saw the world wide web as the next gateway, which it really is, and this forum just combines the two....what a beautiful thing!

Where are they now? Listening to loud rap music and taking turns shooting each other on the streets.
Most people have no desire to help anyone but themselves any more, and in today's hip-hop gangsta dominated youth culture, all it spirals into is violence.

Yes. Blame society's ills on Hip-Hop.
One may as well blame them on drugs instead.

I wasn't going out of my way to say that hip-hop itself is responsible for all of society's problems. Don't take everything so damned personally. The only problem I see with a large portion of hip hop music(and I stress portion because I do like plenty of hip-hop music myself) is that too many of the artists glorify criminal acts of violence.
It's not the music that I blame. It's the artists. And not even all of them, before you try to jump on me for that.
It's one thing to have grown up poor, in a shitty neighborhood, surrounded by crime and poverty. I've been there, I grew up in downtown Detroit. To make music documenting your struggles in that sort of lifestyle isn't a bad thing.
To take it to the extremes many artists do now and turn things like beating the shit out of people and shooting someone to death into some kind of sick merit badge showing off how cool you are is an entirely different matter. If they weren't proud of their actions, they would not be so eager to proclaim to everyone through their music how "hard" they are because they did this.
It's just a bad thing for young people to be hearing. Kids are learning that the only way to deal with anyone who disagrees with you is to commit some kind of violence against them. Whereas once upon a time, you could actually settle a dispute with words and leave it at that, talking doesn't count for shit anymore, except to start a fight.
I wasn't trying to be racist in any way, I'm just sickened by some of the things that many artists of the genre promote as being the thing to do. Just relax a little, I'm no hater. Plenty of whack-ass whiteboys rap about all the wrong things too.

You may as well blame Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead for people taking drugs, My Chemical Romance and AFI for kids cutting themselves, Toby Keith and Garth Brooks for people being racist, and such and so on.
Music is music, regardless of how you try to villainize it. The way people interpret things are what causes the (re)actions of those that hear it.
I guess we can say that video games cause school shootings and murders, as do violent movies.
All of these crimes against humanity have been around long before these types of entertainment/art, and they will be there long after too.
