Psilocybe Question

Hello, thanks for viewing.
This is a pretty basic question, and I do believe I'm right, but my friend won't believe me.
Question:
Is Psilocybe the only psychoactive chemical? or is there more in them.
The mushrooms I'm talking about are Liberty Caps, and I would love to know the answer.
As far as I know, psilocybe is converted by your body into psilocin, which then gets you high.
Also sorry if this is in the wrong forum.
Thanks in advance,

Psilocybe is actually a genus of mushrooms. You're confusing it with Psilocybin. Mushrooms also contain Psilocyn, and another negligible alkaloid. However, most Psilocyn is destroyed in the drying process and there is a lot less of it than Psilocybin to begin with.

Sorry for that mix up.
So its just Psilocybin and Psilocyn are the chemicals that gets you high?
Or is there another one?
"and another negligible alkaloid"
Also, what province you from? I'm a Canadian as well.
Thanks your reply, Duley noted.

Here's a quote from the erowid mushroom FAQ
Quote:
The primary active ingredients of Psilocybe mushrooms are psilocybin and psilocin, and to a lesser extent baeocystin and norbaeocystin. The ratio of psilocybin to psilocin varies from species to species. The primary difference between the two compounds is that psilocin is unstable, considered to be more prone to destructive oxidation, and breaks down when the mushroom is dried. Psilocybin is thought to last much longer (a 115-year old mushroom sample was found to contain some).
Atlantic Canada eh? I'm from NB.

Thanks again man.
That answer my question, but raised another.
As far as I know, psilocybe is converted by your body into psilocin, which then gets you high.
So is that true, or something like that true? I read that somewhere in the Shroomery.
Thanks bud.

Psilocyn turns into Psilocybin once in your body. So even if they are two different chems, it's all the same in the end. Also, from what part of eastern Canada do you hail from?

Psilocybin is, indeed, converted into psilocin.
