a couple quick questions before i case

1) after paturizing the casing, do i need to wait a significant amount of time before applying it to my substrate?
2) i know peoples oponions are diff. but sense this is first casing, should i incuabte the casing for a couple days? rr says he never does, ive read different oponions, but can i get some honost oponions please.
3) i used geolite ans h20 pumps my first grow, but this time around im going ot use perlite. does 1in of perlite and 1/2in. of water sound ideal?
and anymore tips would be greatly appreicated. thanks guys

1) wait until it cool about 75-80f, you don't want to hurt you MYC
2)I usually let my casings colonize for 3-4 days, But I use 60/40 verm/coir
3)I don't think you want any still water in your FC, just damp perlite.

1. just until it cools
2. I don't (I actually don't apply casing until I can see hyphal knots)
3. no. no standing water! damp perlite only! standing water will only increase your chance for contamination and at the same time lower your humidity level. so only damp perlite.
please use the spell check.

oh wow i did make it seem like that huh...i would deff. mix it together i was thinking about the ratio, and how damp the perlite should actually be. sorry for the confusion. thanks for the advise. ive really heard coir isnt good for casings...casues overlay. but i dont know from any expirence. i was actally going to try it and read that is better for a substrate, then case to 50/50+. but whatevr,,,anyways thanks ill post some pics soon. so pretty much i put 1in of substrate and 1/2in casing. that seems thin compared to pictures ive seen... any suggestions?

casing should be no thicker than 1/4 of the substrate. your substrate should ideally be 3-5 inches thick, with about 1/2 tops of casing material.
coir is a substrate, just like manure. that's why it colonizes. casing is peat and vermiculite.
