Chemicals a problem in birdseed?

I picked up a bag of Parakeet Food today on a whim, but now I am unsure if it will work. It contains a shitload of chemicals and I don't now if tat's such a good thing. It's Nature's Gold brand, anyone have any experience with it?

chemicals are never good...but it never hurts to try a jar or two...you might want to be a bit more specific than "chemicals". Also, if you're going to try a pint or quart jar or two then make sure you rinse them off in some lukewarm water first.

I dont know about that kind but I use some finch food from walmart and its working great. I sure you could use that seed anyway though.

Well, in adidtion to white millet, oat groats, canary grass seed, red millet, etc. It contains Mendione sodium bisulfate complex, zinc oxide, calcium iodate, magnesium oxide, artificial colorings (red #3, blue #1, Yellow #6, and so forth)
I will try a few jars but I just wanted to be absolutely sure first so I don't waste if I don't have to.
