im growing a sundew and apparently these little guys need lots of light.
i recently transplanted it into 1 to 1 to 1 coir/peat/perlite
not sure how long it has to live so im boosting the lighting.
right now its under 2 t12's not sure the wattage
im going to swap this system out for either 4 t8's (2850 lumans at 6500k)
OR
2 t8's overdrived 2x
these are 32w 48" bulbs
opinions?

one plant??? how big is it??? I also have a CFL security light from Home Depot that would be good for one plant. I just had to put black tape over the light sensor and wire in an electrical cord for it. It has a mogul socket and is enclosed I think I remember reading that it puts out around 7000 lumens but I am not sure. I will take a pic of it for you brb

yeah its just one plant and has like 3 limbs on it each about 6 inches long maybe shorter
i already have the t8's, its the only thing that will work for my setup.
I guess the main question is, do i need 2 very bright lights, or 4 regular lights?
each t8 tube puts out 2850 lumens normally, ill try to find out how much a overdrive will boost them

overdriving not only boosts light output but also makes the spectrum closer to the true 6500k..... on the left is 2x overdriven t8's and the middle is t5 high output and on the right is normal t8's. I turned the brightness waaay down in the image

but yeah T8's work great
