My setub for inoc. (funny)

So i wanted to come up with a more sterile way to inoc and i dont have the means to make a flow hood or a glove box (dorm room) so i came up with this idea i thought i would share because its rather funny.....
I took 2 big garbage bags and cut a slit in each and duct taped them together to make essentially one big bag, i took another and cut all the seems so its one big sheet of plastic, i then layed the "big bag" on top and tape it to the flat sheet of plastic, except for one end with enough room for me to climb in...... i took a 1.5 inch plastic tube and made a hole in the top for that and taped around that as well (for air after i spray lysol) so when i want to use this wierd invention i tape the tube to the wall, this keeps the top of the bag in the air, so it isnt laying on head.... after im in i either duct tape the opening i came in closed or have my roomate do it, and i start using the tube for breathing. i then spray everything with lysol and sit for ten minutes while is starts working..... i wear old ski goggles because lysol kills eyes!!!
Anyway, this is very still, theoretically sterile air to work in..... given the user takes a shower and whatnot. I still flame my needle (but with butane) and wipe down with alcohol pads, as well as wipe everything im working with down with alcohol pads.... hopefully i dont lose any jars!
Thought this might be good for a laugh and kind of looking for comments/ suggestions!!

I use to be real paranoid until I discovered liquid culture. Now I just use bleach/water solution and some rubbing alcohol and just shoot up in open air. Never have contams so no need to change. Whatever works for you though

Hahahaha, awesome! A one-man anti-contam bag! Think that might have to be abbreviated and officially known as an OMAC...awesome idea. I was thinking of doing that, but a glove box seems somewhat more practical for me at the moment, if a fair bit less awesome.

I really don't think it's practical because you're inside of it. You should just put an upside down aquarium on the table and move it to the edge just enough to put your hands up into it.

well in a dorm room i really dont have the room for a spare aquarium, if i shower and brush my teeth and then spray myself with lysol when im in there i believe its much better than a closet closet, i mean with the plastic on the bottom it keeps me off the carpet (my whole room is carpeted)..... and i can fold it up and put it away for next time lol. cost me nothing pretty much, just shit i had laying around.... i had one i used for spawning two days ago and so far so good! i would have to believe its a ton better than anything i can do in a dorm room

Hey whatever works for you, all that matters is whether or not you can get mushrooms from all your effort. If you do, then congrats.

Fuck me; thats a a funny mental image. Listen bubble boy, next time your at the store buy a 30 ish gallon sterilite and get two lids for it. go through the self check out.
cut one lid for arm holes and leve the other normal.
now hide the cut lid under your matress and fill the box with whatever you want: books, cloths, food, watever is ALREADY taking up space.
when you need to work, take everything out and put the other lid on : VOILA!
poits for creativity tho..:D

For what it's worth, garbage bags are sterile inside as a byproduct of their manufacturing process. A roll of clear garbage bags are great in a pinch and I've managed to have several sucessful grain-to-grain transfers inside clear bags...
Still not as practical as a cheap clear-tote converted into a glovebox

yeah that makes complete sense, and as i was in there i sprayed heavily with lysol 3 or 4 times, and was breathing through a tube. i went to use my butane lighted, which was probably not a good idea given the lysol, but there wasnt enough oxygen to even ignite a flame..... i have a picture of the setup, ill get it up here soon

I have seen disposable bag glove boxes for sale .. from a vendor on this forum you fill it with laminar flow hood air (which if you had you wouldnt need the bag duh) or inert air like co2 or nitrogen to inflate the bag .
