Hello,

I just wanted to post my experience with Spores101 since I see there are many forums where people are asking where the best places are to buy from and questions about vendors.

I'm a first time grower and I recently purchased my syringe from Spores101. To my suprise,I got it pretty quickly- within a few days in descrete packaging as promised. Also, before I even purchased it, I filled out a contact form regarding a question, expecting it to be quite a while before I got a response as most online business' are, and within A FEW HOURS, I had a response waiting in my inbox from the staff. Now being a newbie at this, bound to making mistakes the first time, I inoculated my jars too close to the time of sterilyzation because I was unaware of the time you're sopposed to wait. I am still waiting to see what will happen, but I really wished I would have purchased multiples so I didn't have to wait to try again. Naturally, first time growers aren't really sure what to buy or what to expect, but I think that Spores101 is really the way to go and they have really great deals- espessually for newbies, like the deal of 3 syringes for $40 instead of paying $15 a piece. I REALLY wish I would have taken Spores101 up on their deal the first time, and it would have saved me from the problem I had. Next time I am DEFINATELY ordering from Spores101 again though.

So my advice from one newb to another is to definately to order your Spores from Spores101. I really regrett not taking them up on their really good deals and would reccomend getting multiples, which will be the next step I'm taking. Trust me- it's the way to go and Spores101 is fast, reliable, descreet, maintain good contact with their customers, and their products arrive in good condition. I don't know about other vendors, but I'm definately sticking to Spores101. :smile:

Yes, very good advice Abesh.

I cant tell you how many unknowing customers we offend and ultimately lose because they feel like we should be answering their cultivation questions. I swear we have had emails just like these:

"Are these the spores I use to grow magic mushrooms?"

"I used your Ecuador strain on some rye grain I prepared myself and nothing happened. I want another."

We have to be a responsible company and protect ourselves and our customers that understand the protocol when ordering from a company like Innersight Trading.

We know there are other companies out there that are a lot more loose on these kind of policies but we just aren't.

Anyhow - this was a very good thread to further communicate our business ethics to the customer.

I had a customer today tell me that we have terrible service after I told him we can't answer his cultivation questions.

he then proceeded to tell me he has purchased from another shroomery vendor and hopes Spores101 is not around much longer.

I replied informing him that when they ask cultivation questions directly it puts all the vendors at risk, including yourself. I then gave him a refund minus the cost of shipping as they were not 100% satisfied with Spores101.com.

There is more than enough information online to answer ANY question, so please, show some respect for the vendors and try to NOT mention cultivation.

I got a PM from that member about that very situation and that is not what I was told. I was informed that the member was treated like dirt because they made the reference that it had been 6 days and no growth was seen. The member advised me that you responded that it can take 14 days for growth to show.

14 days!? Sure, if they're using the PF Tek. This member was using a liquid culture and I can tell from using hundreds of inoculates that growth has never taken 14 days using a liquid substrate. I think the biggest concern the member had was the fact that the syringe received was clear. Your site advertises syringes that show clumps of spores, so I can see the frustration there. I think your site even advertises "packed with spores." I did assure them that a clear syringe can be viable, but I think the damage had already been done. I'm pretty sure the entire syringe was used and no growth recorded (waiting on a response still).

I was privy to some of the correspondence that occurred between you two and I must say I was disappointed in the way she was treated. You acted like she just started cultivating and went as far as to call her underage and/or a law enforcement officer with no common sense just because there was an inference to cultivating.

I do not condone her speaking openly about cultivation and condemned it in my reply, but I cannot stand by your treatment of her simply because she discussed signs of growth and false advertising as her basis for a replacement. I quickly got the impression that your company will not issue a replacement on the basis of virility alone. If this is not the case, how then do you expect your customers to discuss concerns without mentioning their reasons for requesting a replacement. :rolleyes: Any reason given would surely be as a result of their cultivation efforts.

I know this member quite well and cannot believe for an instance your claim that this member inquired with you on any cultivation questions. That's all I wanted to say. Please forgive my intrusion in this thread. I simply cannot stand by when false information is being spread about a good member of this community.

pwned... and as for viability of syringes, that's a very good point wronguy. if cultivation can't be mention in viability, how would you know if it's viable or not? not everyone has a microscope strong enough for seeing spores and it'd almost not be worth it buying one just for a refund.
i've never bought off of spores101 before so i have nothing to say but i've noticed that more "noobs" than "veterans" like spores101.

Regardless of politeness or whatever, sounds like the situation's resolved. Wouldn't you say so Wronguy? The person broke the "rules" of ordering, which were agreed to before purchase. Then the person was issued a full refund, despite the fact that they violated Spores101's terms of service - which they had agreed to before the purchase.

Sounds pretty damn good to me.

You don't need to discuss cultivation to discuss virility. The spores are sold for "microscopy purposes only". If you don't have a good microscope, don't make claims of inviability. Use the scope, Luke! This was agreed to before the purchase was made.

I was quite happy to see a refund was issued, but I cannot condone the manner in which this member was treated. To be completed honest, I had no intentions on commenting in this thread until I saw the comments that this user asked cultivation questions. This is simply not true.

The user in question mentioned cultivation using the phrase "no growth." I think there is a distinction here that is not being addressed. I am fully aware of the situation that occurred and at no time was cultivation advice solicited. This is what is so upsetting. Why do people have to spin the truth to allow others to side with them? Had Spores 101/Shroomtalk stated "A customer mentioned growth on their email and we could not provide any support in this regard," or something to that affect, I wouldn't have bothered saying anything.

Refund= Great handling of the situation
Treatment= Poor understanding of the customer's intention, even poorer response by falsely representing what was discussed in open forum.

I honestly don't know what else to say about this. I have had problems with syringes in the past, got a fully colonized substrate, but the substrate would just not fruit. I sent the company an email stating these reasons and a replacement was immediately sent. There was no brush off or referral to their disclaimer, just an immediate response offering a refund and/or replacement. Did I mention cultivating? Sure I did, but they didn't treat me like I'm an idiot because of this.

Anyway, my two cents.

for the 1st time out of all the times ive ordered from spores101 i didnt get the spores. its been about 3 weeks now and everyone i talk to keeps telling me to wait another week and then they will start a trace or whatever. the other times they arrived in like 3 days. i hope i can figure out what happened or whatever....

Knotty if we said it was shipped then I assure you it was shipped. Have you double checked your address to confirm its correct?

Did you pay for tracking on your shipment?

If your in the USA and your order does not arrive within 15 business days after shipping then there is most likely a problem, and it should be returned to our shipping office.

If you ordered overseas without tracking sometimes it can take a VERY long time to arrive... regular mail across continents is not a reliable way to have spores shipped.. its worth it to invest in the tracked and insured shipping.

Sucks that this is your first time ordering and you get a long delay Knotty, please PM me your order number and I will see if I can find out anything else for you.

ive ordered several times before and never had any problems. yes it was shipped on oct. 3 but no i didnt pay for tracking. i have a order number and everything else if you want that. Im not saying you didnt ship it, or mad, just hoping i can find out what happend... i mean $70 is $70. I mean im guessing im going to have to order more spores, but i dunno...i really cant afford for this to happend twice..ya know??
