Yet another discovery - I.D
    #7551616 - 10/23/07 04:25 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

More and more seem to pop up around here. I'm lucky to live in Oregon, I guess.
I found these growing in grass near mixed soil and old barkchips. They are really slimy and wet to the touch.

Stem: white with yellowish greenish bruising. there's a ring around the stem too. Gills are attached. The gills are the same color as the stem. The cap seems to have dark green bruising that starts from the center of the cap and the edges around the cap is yellow. The cap is slimy.
Spore print so far seems to be pinkish. It hasn't been sitting for long just yet - I'll update.
Here are some pictures

I am pretty sure this is a Gomphidius.

I'm with Alan on this. Gomphidius. Although edible, they aren't really worth eating. They have little flavor and cook up extremely slimy. Just not appetizing.

Happy mushrooming!
