1000's of Mushrooms Everywhere.....
    #755155 - 07/18/02 04:50 AM (14 years, 3 months ago)

But not one of them I found were cubes! I found big shrooms, small shrooms....white ones and black ones....red ones and even bright green space aged looking ones......BUT NO DAMN CUBES!

I have found about 50 species of fungi fruit growing these past few days. We have gotten rain here every day for 21 days.... So many shrooms everywhere but none having that special magic I desire. The temps here for the past few weeks has been mid 70's during night and upper 80's lower 90's in the day. Everything is humid, damp, and with all this rain it's like a freaking tropical rain forrest around here. Everything is growing outta control except the cubes.

Any body else had and luck in central Texas - Austin area? Been out to 5 fields about 15 times, walked billions of miles, and the closest thing I have found to a cube was a sqare block of wood on the side of the road. Someone with info of Texas give some feedback please.....Thanx

I think you will see that once the sun comes out the cubes will start popping up like mad...they are probably just a little too saturated with water right now...and need that sun heat to finish up the job.

RIP Matt, your friendship and your contributions to the world of fungi will be missed. Unfortunately we never got to hunt together.

Hell yeah he's serious about the sun thing, and I am as well...... Found a couple cubes here in Granger last June when it was like 95*, nothing since then which sucks but I know they are out there from my luck last year so I won't give Up, just like you shouldn't give up.

Drove through Houston last week when it was raining and from Brenham on I saw a whole bunch of mush in the fields and I'm sure a majority of them were magic from their tan tops.
