Dude drops 100 identical wallets each with $2 cash and a fake $50 gift certificate.

26 people kept them, and 3 called the fake numbers to redeem the certificates (you can listen to the calls).

It would be really interesting to see what happens as the amount of money increases.

Presumably, more people would keep the wallet. There is a slight chance however, that at some point, people would return the wallet because they felt guilty about keeping so much money.

Readers Digest makes a test like that wordwide every year, with 50 bucks (i think) in the wallet.

Actually the page is pretty neat. If you go to it, the statistics are posted.

Men were much more likely to steal the wallet than women. Younger people more likely than old.
