Yes. You can throw two layers of wire mesh into a tupperware container, put a washcloth on the bottom one and load it up with damprid, then put your fresh babies on the top mesh. Close it up and let ti do its thing. The damprid will suck the water right out of those puppies, and since it's on mesh, it'll drip out most of the moisture into the bottom of the container and make it a little easier to dry your desiccant back out.

That would take forever and potentially turn your fresh mushrooms into a withered mush. Dry with moving air first, then put it in a container with damp rid afterwards.

yeah, i got a box built so i can aim a fan thru a screen onto the mushrooms which are on the wire mesh, which is supported over the damprid. just didnt know if damprid would work like dryerite and other dessicants.

It works great. I crumple up some aluminum foil into sort of a tray, then push it into the bottom of a empty plastic sherbert container. Then sprinkle about a 1/4" into the foil, then put a cut piece of screen on top of that. The purpose of the foil, is to protect the Damprid from any water that pools up at the bottom of the container. It lasts about a month, or 3-4 big dried crops.

damp-rid is a desiccant. not a product similar to one, ... it is one.
so yes, it works equally as well. the draw back to damp-rid is that it is not reusable.
it's cheap as hell, but it's a one-time use thing.
other desiccants can be reused after being recharged. damp-rid withers away to this clear, strange substance.
