What was the last movie you watched/saw?
    #7550204 - 10/23/07 08:29 AM (16 years, 3 months ago)

Mine was unfortunately harry potter and the order of phoenix which in my opinion sucked balls. Yesterday I watched Fantastic Planet which I though was quite cool. And the day before that I saw Transformers which I didn't like too much.
So what was your last movie you watched?

New Jack City... watched it last night. Seen it at least ten times though, but it's still a great movie.

The Assasination of Jessie James...

Long, but I enjoyed it.

Most others probably wouldn't...

Underworld (extended edition)

Basically it's about the ageold battle between vampires and werewolves, set in modern times, with ultraviolence.
It was fun.

my blockbuster store is alwyas trying to get me to switch to the netflix-type deal they have... but FUCK mailing shit (it's all about location)

i live in a city, in an apartment building, and our mail slot isnt big enough to get a DVD in - plus blockbuster is 5min away, but yet they still always ask me.

yah - blueray FTW, i got a 32" LCD 1080i flat panel that i'm in love with.

i'm a college student i can't afford 1080p. the 1/30th of a second frame change isn't really noticable, so it doens't bother me.

I need to get off my ass and look at my TVs instruction manual so i can watch regular TV in NON-widescreen. when that shit is stretched it drives me crazy, aha

I've been enjoying all the horror movies on TV for halloween

Prom Night 3
Poltergeist 2
Beetlejuice
Ginger Snaps

Some of those I'm sure are really bad but I like most horror movies, even if they're really bad you can just laugh and pretend it's a comedy.

Funny, the more I see Memento, the more I don't like it.

Last movie I saw was, sadly, Cache. I've had NetFlix for months, but haven't actually used it in like two months. I HAVE to get on that.

The Amityville Horror. Watched it last night. It didn't really hold up too well (made in 1979) horror movies today are just so much scarier.

horror movies back then are great - but without the special effects of today that we're so used to - they just dont get us the same.

anybody seen Event Horizon?

Seriously. They highly favor shock imagery and surprise as opposed to actual horror. Which is pretty much the McDonalds equivalent of horror movies.

Oooh my, The Thing is a REALLY GOOD horror movie and it even has pretty amazing special effects by today's standards. All latex and foam too, no computer effects because there were no computers to speak of

But a really nice oldskool horror film where its all about suspense is Rosemary's Baby. Its from the 60s but still packs a wallop.
And there's a Datura trip scene thats pretty outstanding.

I watched yesterday the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I think it was quite good. Not once I got bored during that nearly 3 hour long movie. I have only seen the second one before and I wouldn't say that one was better than other. They were quite similar, only scenario was different.

grey gardens- documentary about Jackie (Bouvier) Kennedies crazy family that lives up in a south hampton mansion and basically let it rot around them while they proceeded to get more nuts.

I just rented Death Proof (Tarantino). I actually liked it, despite hearing some bad reviews from friends.
I plan on seeing 30 Days of Night sometime this week. I don't know that I'll like it, but it's been recommended by a good-tasted friend.

The last movie I saw was Nightmare on Elm Street 5 - The Dream Child.

It was a complete piece of shit. Terrible. I liked one through four of that series but now I'm worried about watching ANoES 6 tonight, fearing it might be just as shitty as 5. Everything was over the top, Freddy Krueger was a parody of himself and the formula of the series was almost completely done away with.

At one hour I said to myself: OK, now just thirty more minutes and I'm done with it. I was relieved it lasted only 20 more minutes.

Dear God. I could barely handle King Kong Vs Godzilla on shrooms.. let along a horror movie. Although it's damn near a comedy really. That show was so cheesy.

Question: Wasn't that "Nightmare on Elm Street 5" movie released in 3D in the theatres?

I always get pissed when I miss movies that are released 3d in the theatre cuz I always miss it and they NEVER friggin release the 3d version on DVD.

Actually.. I really just want to get a hold of some 3d glasses. That's probably all it is

I saw that and was dissapointed in it. Now if I was in my 60's I might have found it entertaining. I think they should have given them some shrooms or something during filming.

I like this thread now because I don't feel pressured to rate, but will anyway at my leisure.:smirk:

The Hunt - 2020
Weird comedy horror full of political and social commentary. Very tongue placed firmly in cheek/butt hole. The protagonist was really good though (the winner). She reminded me of Sandra Bullock for some reason. Worth a watch IMHE. Maybe a 2.5-3.5 out of 5 stars. Yeah, I used a .5 rating system in my 5 stars, mmmmmkay?
