So i decide, that im gonna have a go at using any spores that may be left in my syringe by making an LC sterilising it, waiting for it to cool completly, draw the liquid into the syringe and shoot back into my LC jar.
So i opens up my pressure cooker, and there is a wee ball about 1cm in size of green!!!! stuff will grow anywhere!!!

It's a good idea to store your PC clean, dry and with the lid off. At least mold is easy to kill. Somewhere around here we have a picture of a really contaminated PC. RR

it occurred to me yesterday, when taking a core biopsy, that the barrel of the syringe behind the plunger has been exposed to contaminated air,so was very careful when trying to "free" my core sample into the liquid medium not to pull the plunger back further than it had been,if you see what i mean. in other words... don't draw the plunger back further than where you could assume it be sterile.

I think there must have been some residue from the last BRF jars a cooked, i use tinfoil on glass's as i cant get any suitable jars here.
I think cause of the tinfoil, some moisture can escape with some flour in it and its just grown on that.
After i last used it i just emptied the water out.
Ill keep it dry and clean after each use.

I guess it's only safe to do this when your sterilizing an EMPTY syringe, but I like pour a little rubbing alcohol into that back of the syringe behind the plunger, then pour some into the needle's safety cap before I start cleaning it with boiling water. Maybe I'm just paranoid but IMO this kills off any bacteria that might be in those small neglected areas from storage.
