Dehydrating....what happened????

Hey. the other day i scored pretty good in FL at a regurlar field. Mainly all C. Cyanescens..you know, the blue meaines. Over 1 lb wet, Dried out to about 20g's. From everyting I"ve read you only need 1 g dried for a good damn time. Even that calc. on here says 3.5 g's would reach a level 5 trip. The thing is we each ate about a7.5 g's and barely got off. When we eat them fresh in tea they are insane. I used a dehydrator to dry them out on low heat. Do you think that could have taken away so much of the poteincy???? Any suggestions would be great.

ahh you used heat heat destroys psilicin thats probbably your problem try to dry them in it without heat just have the fan run...

an ordinary house fan will work to dry.
how long do you fan them?
do you put them in the frig with dampRid after that for additional drying and preservation?

heat kills those little guys. Next time use desicant you can get it at Home Depot.

I think you got your species mixed up.If you found it in a pasture in FL,it's Psilocybe cubensis.Even if grown indoors and picked small,one dried gram will just give you a buzz.You might be getting confused with P.Cyanescens,which grows on wood chips at cool temperatures.

I'd guess your tea just contains alot more than you are eating when you dry them,and that's why you get off better.
