can I pseudo dunk while my first flush is still maturing?

will this cause all the shrooms maturing to die/stop growing? my casings seem dry even though I've been keeping up on spraying + they are producing very small mushrooms a few have pulled away from the container my question is this: can I pour water in the casings but NOT submerge them to hydrate while maturing is going on? like the casings floating in water. is this a waste of time/cause more bad than good? also - the maturing is slower than I've ever seen
any suggestions welcome

Hopefully, there's a substrate under the casing. I've long advised to pour water around the edges of the subsrate just until it begins to float. Wait a couple of hours and pour off any that will pour out. You can do this during the flush. RR

Exacty that. In your case, the rye is the substrate. It's important when asking questions to give that information. The word 'casings' doesn't help us to know what your setup is. Give it a drink. RR

I did just what RR suggested 4 days ago. Man did they need it. About 1.5 cups per casing, and they sucked it all up. RH is up, casings don't look dry, and fruiting has increased 10 fold.

were your mushrooms maturing while you did this? if so, by fruiting increased 10 fold, do you mean that after you hydrated the same fruits before hand increased? I hope that makes sense

My pinset was set into fruiting a few days before. What I mean by the 10 fold is that all growth increased by 10 fold... all fruits grew faster, all pins became fruits quicker... like it's supposed to be if you do it right. I now know one way to fuck up, and how to amend the situation.

If you have a pin submerged, maybe pour some of the water out. Really, only the bottom needs to be submerged, it will soak into the rest of the casing. Likely though, you are talking about a shroom coming from the sides of the casing which have shrunk... you might have to add a little more water after the initial amount is soaked up, so as too not submerge any pins/fruits. I may be wrong though... but I am sure if you follow this advice you will be fine. RR?

I can attest to this as well. I recently did this in an effort to drown/pour out some gnats that were down the sides of my casing. My mushys still look fine after 48hrs.
