A few Dunk and Roll questions.

I have two questions:
I have 3 fully colonized jars, the two last ones probably have another 3 days of colonizing to do plus maybe an extra one to make sure it's well colonized. Could I dunk n' roll the first three, and then do the two last ones later or is there a reason that this would be a bad idea. I can't see why not. I'm going to wait another few days before birthing however.
Also, in some Dunk n Roll teks, it says to use distilled water. I have pretty good tap water, would that be a problem?

Most people I know just use tap water with no problem. Also, in the RR videos, he just uses tap water to rinse the cakes and submerge them.

I always used tap water and still do... And works great! But be aware if your tap is well water. (if you live in a less populated area) Im not sure what that out come is.
Birth those 3 babies!! Theres nothing wrong with seperating them from the hurd... Some are just faster than others.
Also I do a "cold shock" and dunkem' in the fridge for 24hrs.

Your tap water should be fine, i have had no problems dunking with water straight out the tap, even with sterilising it.
RowZeZe, your spreading misinformation, Cold shocking does not refer to dunking in the fridge, the "cold shock" is merely a drop in temperature of around 10 degrees. Most would agree that it is not benificial (except for certain cold loving species) and myc will just spend a day or two recovering.

Next, i would first ask how long the 3 days have been fully colinised, as he seems to not know, that you should wait 5-7 days.
After a cake apears colinised on the outside, it can still be colinising the middle, you give it atleast 5 days to make sure it has a good hold on the substrate, its not gonna fruit any earlier, it will just sit in the fruitng chamber colinising.
If people just took the time to read the stickies at the top of the bloody forum, its all in there!

Oh sorry... I heard about it a couple years ago and have always done it since. Guess I'll stop doing that.
Once again, Sorry!
