Cold Shocking
    #7546597 - 10/22/07 12:03 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

Now that we are in the fall season, with rain and some significant cooler weather, it will that cause the fungi to produce more like a cold shock, right? Will it cause the fruit to be stronger too (Cubes),or does that come later this season? I would like to here from people with a lot more knowledge than myself.

in my expierence with hunting cubes
the cold shocks only prolong the growth making it a slow from pins to full grown mushrooms process

I highly doubt a cold shock increases the potency

heres an example of what I'm tryin to say

So like say its November and you're hunting for cubes you find some
some larger then others ..you leave behind the smaller unopened caps because you will be coming back to your hunting spot in a couple days
well what the cold shocks of waether can and will do is keep those smaller ones from fully growing only to end up rotting from the sun

I once went shroomin in the middle of november found only enuff for one trips worth left the smaller ones behind went back 3 days later and the smaller ones were still there and just about the same size as they were when I left them

cool huh
the fall seems to slow the growth IMO making it more fun to pick/hunt
I mean who wants to be out and about picking shrooms in the summer heat when its 100 outside
fall weather makes for a much more cooler hunt

Yes I do like hunting in the fall a bit better temp wise. Also where I hunt the leaves on the bushes & trees help to camouflage me from the outside world. That is the advantage of the spring & Summer.

there are times in the fall I'd rather be huting in the spring then theres time in the summer I wish it was fall
All in all an active hunt is a great hunt
