Still pinning. But a lot of pins were not happy.

Are you kidding?

There is no reason to rip out the Cyan patches in favour of the Azures. Surely all your property is not covered yet.

it pulls up like a piece of carpet. It sure does look good in the park down the street.
Trust me, its hurts to do so. I am only really tearing up the section that has the random cyans and friscosas in it. I am tearing up 1/2 of the big friscosa patch. just the side that didnt fruit that well. I am putting all those chips+more fresh ones on the side that fruited the heaveiest. I am replacing that other side with az's. Thats in the back. Plus ther is a 4" thick area that only produced 1 mushroom because it was planted in sept/oct that will absolutely explosed next fall. I just have to keep my dog from running through there.

Now the front yard will be 1/2 cyans and 1/2 az's. And the majority of the smaller chips/mycelium chunks from the stuff that I am taking out is going to get raked into the grass. I will have to take a day off work next fall just to pick the ones in the front yard so I can do so when most of the neighbors are at work so they dont think something weird is going on over here.
The rest of the chips are going to the park down the street near the big pins and fence that will provide it with some good shade during the summer and high humidity next fall.

All this and the multiple bags of wood chips I added to a few patches in the bay along with a bag or two of colonized wood chips,3 grocery store platic bags of seed spawn, and the 2 spray bottles full of mycelium.

I do think i have done my part to give back to the mushroom gods

I seriously doubt that possibility.

Azures love the cold even more than Cyans. Seems like our weather is going to warm up a little soon.

So, I found a handful of half-dried pins yesterday, along with a couple of mature mushrooms, and a bunch of pins.  I think the new pins will die without water..

These are not "Friscosas".....

*note:  The immature cap broken off like that was a total accident.    The mushrooms are not easy to reach, and I could not see everything I was doing.  :frown:

i was driving through a neighboring town teh other day and I had a big bag full of spawn aand I noticed the they had the road landscaped with the right type of wood chips so i was looking for a place to pull over o i could throw some spawn out. I pulled into a school parking lot and they had a huge pile of wood chips sitting int he parking lot waiting to be destributd to the beds.
I just dumped my bag of spawn in there and will let teh landscapers do the work for me

those are nice cc. I think I have seen some mycelium of that species growing in the bay.

I met a guy that had a permit to do some work with the species that you have right there cc and with friscosas. I gues he got the permit because it is an unknown species.

But the one thing that he noticed between the two species is the heavy bruising on agar. He has only seen bruising to this extent with azurescens before but the friscosas are showing as much if not more bruising. he said that ps cyanescens shows little if any bruising on agar.

has anyone compared the friscosas and cyanescens before? Is one noticably stronger than the other?

They are comparable in potency as far as i can tell... Maybe the "Friscosas" are slightly stronger.

I've not done a bioassay of the Ps. subaeruginascens-like species, though I've heard one report that they are weaker than Cyans, and Auweia says they are WAY stronger, so I have no idea.

I have seen both of the unidentified species on agar, and yes, they blue HEAVILY.
