Dude I know its lame. My only free days are mon/tues right now...
If you wanna come over to mo-town, in a few weeks its fib season up in the hills - Sonora, coumbia, etc- got a friend up there that took me to a patch of fibs and I was like "where the fuck is this hick taking me" and it was some very nice fib fruitings. I am gonna take a class out there this year "Mushrooms of the Motherload" - the last day of the class they take you to all the active patches and such.. sounds really cool... makes me wonder why we don't have more hunters from the hills.

Sounds rad.
But... THEY'RE NOT "FIBS".
They are 100% certainly not Ps. cyanofibrillosa. They are either a sub-species or phenotypic variant of Ps. cyanescens, or a new species all together. We call them "Cyanofriscosa" or "friscosa". Others call them "Cyclone Psilocybe", but that is sort of a mouthful, and not a consistent trait among populations. They are NOT "fibs", no matter how many people Paul Stamets told they were.

Okay and you have hunted in the motherload howmany times and checked these out?
I have helped picked them and seen them drying shittons of them up there- and they are no where near the size of friscosas.
I know what a cyanfib looks like- even if you ignore stamets - I still think guzman knows what he is talking about. lots of ps.semilanceata up there too-
peace

Okay then.
Well, you must have to eat a LOT of these "fibs" to get any effects. You'd have to eat more Ps. cyanofibrillosa than you would of Ps. stuntzii to trip, since according to Paul's potency graph, fibs are less potent than stuntzii.

And here are two photos to give you an idea of the "Friscosas" size range:

What is "the motherload"? I have certainly seen my fair share of "Friscosas".
And, did Guzman look at the collection from up in the hills?? Did he compare the microscopic features with that of Ps. cyanofibrillosa and confirm the ID?

$80 for gas, $25 for wood chips, $15 for Rye grain- new azure, cyan, friscosas patches priceless [Re: CureCat]

Made the drive. Found the left overs from some of my secret patches. It is a season ender. No luck in ggp. Although I took the lead and added chips to the bed that I have suggested others add chips to. I dropped off 2 bags of chips in one of my cyanescens heavy hitter patches. Spawned the shit out of another cyan and friscosa patch. Dropped a huge rubbermaid tub of colonized cyanescens wood chips. Built multiple azurescens patches with spawn and chips. And sprayed the shit out of another areas with azurescens mycelium water and friscosas mycelium water.
If any of you fine real azurescens next year and it isnt from the current known patches I had better get a pm saying thanks.
by the way, the are Ps. cyanofibrillosa var. sanfrancisco

Do you have any pictures of the species Civ? Im Interested. You said they grow in the Modesto Mountains? Damn Looking at these finds makes me want to go again on Monday. And thanks for Spreading the Azurescens Spawn! By the way will they or have they ever been found in the Bay Area? Also how long does it usually take for pins to mature? Just in case I suddenly have the urge to go to my patches again.
