You guys inspired me to take a quick look around the park today. Tons of Tubaria, but only scattered cyans. Maybe next time you can leave some?
I thought this was cool. It was firmly attached to the cone.

Fortunately, the grass patch I found a couple weeks ago was in full bloom with plenty of pins coming up. I also found a few friscosas.

The grass cyans have long stems to get them above the grass line, I think. These are really sturdy and meaty.

I really hope Tubaria are a good indicator because I saw a shitload of these today.

We find a lot of cyanescens that are utilizing dead grass for some of their food.

I went out for a quick hunt this morning. Found some nice albino fibs/Friscosas/unknown/cyclone/ps cyanofibrillosa var. san francisco and some cyans. The heavy frost hasn't affected my secret patch.
cyan's

Albino Fibs

add this to the above pic and you have the haul

Cyan's in their natural state

Intruders, note the cyan's in the upper left

Albino fibs in their natural state

Some hiding deep in the cover

Text book cyanofib var sf. bruising on the stem, gill structure, color

On a side note. I have noticed that the integrity of this thread is headed downhill. We are in the prime hunting of the season. Heavy rains have brought everything up. CC and I had a great day at the park the other day, Sui and laska found a new cyan patch, Sui broke his ankle but it isn't anything vicodin cant fix. Auweia is still finding and posting but over all the whole thing has slowed down.
Lets hunt, post pics, educate newbies, and enlighten.

Cool pics. That hairy stem seems to be a prevalent feature with the friscosas.
Do you think the paleness is environmental or genetic?

Environmental, as other fruiting bodies produced a week earlier from that same patch were normal in colour.

Some skinny Cyans from my Redwood patch.

Some Candy Caps, Lactarius rubidus, and the Hypomyces sp. that loves to parasitize them!

Stropharia ambigua.

A lone scout. Volvariella speciosus.

A minute little Mycena acicula that I tried to take photos of...

A log cake with some sweet Armillaria sp. pins.
