So I went to GGP today for the first time.

I seriously could not believe how many different types of mushrooms there were and how frequently you came across some. I found at least 10 different types, but not a single one that seems to be a cyan or a cyanfib or any active. I spent easily 3 hours in there too. I did come across one mushroom over and over again that looked a lot like a cyan except the stem and cap and underside were all orange. Anyone have any clue what kind that could be? I also came across ones with orage tops and white stems, glossy, slimy cap too. But the stems did not blue and I could not be sure if they were wavy caps as they were still pins. But interesting nonetheless, tons and tons more mushrooms than I've found here in 2 years of hunting after rain.

Both are indicator species for Psilocybe cyanescens.

Your problem is that you didn't look in enough places.

Try again tomorrow and start as early as possible.

So we were out hunting today and we drove by this landscaped area, and i just had a feeling. I told laska to flip around, and kinda startled her in the process. I jumped out and she went to go park, and after 5 minutes, i see em.

i go to tell laska and get the camera and when she gets there im like i found them! And she says, "where, there and points down, and theres more that i had completly missed.

This patch is fucking huge.

The Mad Patch Poacher Strikes Again!!! This time for Real! [Re: sui]
    #7783845 - 12/20/07 10:51 PM (16 years, 1 month ago)

I met up with double c, pw, and TL today for some good old hunting in ggp. It is true that the rain brings them out. We found more cyans today in the park then I have ever found there before.
First off. The mad poacher strikes. I knew that I knew where this pic was taken from yesterday so we bee lined straight to the area to clean out the patch. We poached away.

From today. Pretty good poach from what info was left behind in the first pic. More pics later

Here are the pics of the haul. The top pic has 3 different hauls in it. Very bottom left is from fairfeild, I am sure this is someone private patch. The middle big cluster is from another spot, all cyans. The top right is the haul from another cyan spot.

Bottom pic, all ggp cyans. We let double c take the rest

Taaaahoooooe, you're starting shit!  That is NOT the story you told me!  :bored:

Yeah, the park was good pickings but the grass cyans were a bit small for Taylors interest.  Another week and i expect there will be some bigger fruits to find.  Getting started earlier also ensures you'll come across some premo specimens for photos.

Yeah, thanks for the mushrooms!  Though I did find a number myself!
I meant to ask where you found those Blewits.  Oh well.  I found a couple more C. brunneum heading back to the car, but gave em to Peter, since they aren't my fav edibles.

Sometime we'll have to go hunting and pick the edibles, then i can cook some up for you guys to try.  Some are really delicious.

Found a new patch in San Mateo that I can truly call my own; totally secluded with all the privacy in the world. I only
picked about 5 specimins but the pinners were everywhere and the mycelium extended for about 50 square feet.

In the middle is one of the longest I've ever seen.

Hey CC, that stem is a good 14 inches long! J/K. But it's still long enough to make my all-time Top 5 Length List.

By the way, nice finds you and Tahoe got there. I bet you guys were dodging shit all day? It's the ubiquitous
human feces in the park that motivated me to search elsewhere today. Glad I did! :mushroom2:

For those of you that havent met CC she is truely spastic. She was jumping around from each side of the trail pointing at mushrooms and telling us what they were. I think it was when she found her bluette when she ran over to it and grabed it. My buddy and i starting laughing becasue she didnt even se the pile of shit she almost stepped in and almost reached in to get it. The shit level was lower then normal. I think the rain disolved some of it and plus the producers of the shit were probably in the shelters due to the rain.
It was actually a very nice day to hunt,

CC we checked by where taylor parked on our way out and actually started to part the grass and found another dozen cyans. IT was awesome.

Btw, I really didnt poach the patch in the pics above, it just looks the same. I have been picking there for 3 years. i would be bummed if someone else found it.

Well... spent some hours in the park today. It was a lovely crisp morning to cruise around on foot. No human shit issues either, thank goodness. Unfortunately, I didn't find many actives... Lot's of tuberias, some gals, and some fat blewits....
Although, here's a pic of the actives I did get my hand on.

I already know this, but you still need to take my photo down. I don't like my photos used in this manner.
