Apology accepted. And here's another tip: don't wear shorts to the City. Just because it's sunny doesn't mean it's warm.
It was a good day. First we got up early to try to beat the crowds to some local hot spots. We found lots of solitary cyans and a few small clusters. I also spotted a small pile of cyans on the ground and then a hunter nearby. Long story short, good to meet you sactownshroomer!
Then it was on to another location and an exciting find.

I found one!...erm 3 baby ones
they were tiny and immature. I looked at them, they looked at me. It was a stand off. I let them be and they got me tickets to the next concert

woohooo!...finally an independent confirmation
3 inches isn't the largest I've seen. The largest I've seen was 4 inches across. I can't find the photo tho...hehe..I have it somewhere
it is true, not only have cyanescens changed and adapted and modified shape, but size too, up to ten times the size...it's pretty freaky when you see it yourself

It was fun...... But dude. No more big hunting groups. I know that it was probably an accident, but seriously, it does none of us any good to hunt in groups of 8 or whatever it was. I couldn't count. 3 is max, 4 is really pushing it as far as I'm concerned.
Nothing against you or anyone else, just too many people. Hope you feel me, man.
That said, it was good to shoot the shit, too fucking bad we didn't find much! I think that in pairs we could spread to other areas outside of GGP, without drawing too much attention.
I'll try and make it out there tomorrow, after I check on my patch here in Marin.

Huge shout out to Scout24 and his lovely assistant who beat me to one of my favorite hills in the park. It was nice meeting you. These pictures are from yesterday. Mostly lone cyans and a few small patches; two were growing directly from a log.

Later in the day I found a patch with about 10 specimens. I was on my hands and knees under a cobwebbed spider-infested bush. Out of nowhere, a huge dog, half Rottweiler and half German Shepard, decided he wanted my shrooms and/or my life; I almost had a heart attack. Thank God, at the last second his owner saw me and called him back. She asked if I was camping out. I told her I was doing a Biology report called, “Animals and Plants of GGP.” This must have interested her. She and Cujo sat next to me and watched as I sifted through tall grasses, collecting mushrooms, spiders and leaves for about half an hour.

There have been a number of recent Coyote sightings. I think one lives in this cave:

Hahahaha! I'm not scared of big dogs. Sometimes they charge at me barking and growling, but then when they get up close, they turn to goo and start wiggling wildly, wagging their tail and sniffing me. It's cute.

Those are some good pics. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains and in my part of the woods there is nothing but redwoods, this is quite discouraging trying to get cyans to grow at my house, because they don't grow on redwoods.
My guess is that the chips were already infested with mycelium before they were put under the redwood trees. Do you know if that spot was recently chipped?
I love thees picture because they give me hope!
