Outside Patch?

Well I tried casings out for the first time and it seems one has been hit with a light green mold. Anyways I was wondering if I would be successful burying it outside and get some shrooms (humidity has been in the 80% range with temperature in the 80's.) Also how exactly would I go about doing it?

Put outside in a shady area and cover with a casing type soil. Like MGMC with verm and keep moist. If your temps stay in that range and you eyeball the moisture level daily then it will fruit, depending on how deep the contam runs through the casing. I applied a casing to a monotub and forgot to pasturize it. Trich set in. I did the explained theory above and mine fruited nicely for one flush and I havent seen anything since. Good Luck

Thanks. Sounds like a plan and I have the perfect shaded area for it. The contam is only on the very surface of the casing so I'm hopeful to get fruits cause I was rather disappointed by the contam. Kinda makes me wish I didn't already toss one of my casings but oh well. Live and learn. About how many inches of casing mix should I put on it?

well if you check moisture level regularly, at least once a day, then no more than an inch or so. Moisture is key. not to much and not to little. if its going to rain then don't water. My hose nozzle has different settings and mist is one of them. I mist mine every morning and evening just to keep the humidity up at the surface.

Get a pot that drains well. fill with dirt and case in that. then cut the top of a 5 gallon Ozarka drinking dispener bottle and put it on top. I use this for plants, but am considering to grow mushrooms this way
