Hi All,
I inoc 2 rye grain grow bags with GT on the Oct 11th. One bag has still shown zero growth and the other appears to be stunted. Is there anything I can do to progress? Or should I sit and wait? The temp is 77-82F.

massage, it heps spread and break mycelium clumps.
As for the one that hasn't grown, I Personally would add more spores. But that's not the best suggestion

So try messaging the bag that has started growing? I put 3 cc per bag...do you think adding more would hurt or help?

If you innoc'd with multispore, then your chances of fast colonization are reduced, compared to, LC. Give it a little more time. Multispore can sometimes take a little longer than wanted. It also has to do with how well you prepared your grains. If you rinsed them nicely, soaked them properly, and PCd them right, they should be just right. . It can be pretty tough to get the moisture in the grains just right the first few times, but once you find how to do it, it's easy enough.
And DON'T massage your bags. There is no point in massaging a bag that hasn't begun colonization. You shouldn't massage the bags until around 25% colonization. Just wait for them to grow more. If you don't notice any growth, it could be due to a contam or your moisture is too high or too low.

It could be a contam being that one never grew and the other stalled. Did you pc them yourself? If so and you have a PC then I would make sure water content is correct in the bag with no growth then PC again then re-inoculate it.
As for the other, massage and see if it recovers and starts growing again. This will set you back a bit but it may fix the problen or give you some answers to deduce from. If it dosent recover, then most likley a contam or water content. If you know what to smell for you can ID a contam very easily. Contams are rotten smelling usualy. My jars that contam always smell like .

I bought the bags from Mushbox. I took extra care for the inoc as far as being sterile and all. As far as the smell, they have an odor but I wouldn't say it is bad. It just smells kind of like I would expect it to smell I guess.

3cc's isn't very much spores. I would have used at least 3ccs per pound of grain.
