substitute for verm?

is there any substitute for vermiculite? and i was looking at a post in the picture forum, and can i use grass seed as part of my substrate with most strains? if i can give me an example, like what strain and stuff.

most people havent had success trying to replace vermeculite
try pm ing teanon on his success using perlite but it doesnt really serve the same purpose as vermecuite if you can use a substrate with one one "strain" then you can use it with any strain
