No it should work. I'm not sure why the other poster is saying it won't.

Assuming you've managed to collect some level of mycelium in your retrieved water (almost undoubtably so) you're fine.

Innoculating onto more substrate isn't any different from honeywater, you're providing it a medium to colonize.

Good Luck!

:mushroom2:It will work just fine. Assuming, like you said, everything was done sterile, then you should have no problems. This sort of thing is done all the time. Maybe not so much with squirting it into cakes, but using myc from colonized substrate to inoculate other substrate is done all the time. Hope everything turns out for you.:mushroom2:

I use to try that poor man's myc syringe by squirting 10cc's of water into a colonized cake and sucking it back up but it never worked.

Maybe there was something I forgot to do....

Seems like it could work.

But it's so painfully rudimentary.errr......ghetto

The important thing to remember is not to allow any of the water you inject to enter the vermiculite barrier, which is loaded with contaminants. Inject and then draw the water from deep within the cake. It works great.

It's even better with a quart jar of rye grain. I can make well over 100 syringes from a single jar of grains, two weeks after the grain jar was inoculated. You'll never get that kind of performance from liquid cultures, that's for sure.

So I can squirt sterile water into my fully colonized grain-based sealed mycobag, suck it back out, and inoculate my other fresh grain bags with that? (assuming its all very sterile and I follow what RR said)

Just making sure I read correctly because I'd like to try this.
