pasteurizing large amounts of coir, and ratios

ok so in the next month or so I plan on setting up a monotub I have way more than enough coir/coffee than will be needed at the moment I'm experimenting with spawning jars to coir/coffee casings
my question is this: whats a good way to pasteurize a lot of coir at one time? atm I've just been mixing it with water by hand and nuking it. I've read that you can just put near boiling water with the coir in a bucket and thats pasteurizing + hydrating in one step. the thing is I dont know what the ratio of compressed coir to water is as well as how much I would need for a tub. I have a 4.5 foot brick of it so its not the usual sized brick you would find at a store
any help would be appreciated

The easiest way, if you can afford the components, would be to build a bulk steamer... There are several teks on how to build them using a Wagner 705 Power Wallpaper Remover as the power-source. I built a rather large one myself recently with a maximum capacity of approximately 2.5-3.5 cubic feet (80-100 quarts) at a time.

damn that thing is nice and thanks for the advise however I'm incredibly poor and lazy, looking for a simple easy way
cant really do the bucket thing due to the fact that it most likely wont hold enough and also that I dont know the ratio of coir to water also cant do the cooler method that I've read about because I dont have one microwaving really isnt an option because it would take forever
guess I'm going to have to get creative

my advice would be to do a hot water bath with the coir wrapped up in a pillowcase or two.
while not my preferred method of pasteurization of coir, it'll work, and in addition, it wont matter what your water ratio is until after its done with its hot water bath, at which time you could drain it or whatever to get it down to field capacity.

nice man, thanks for the advice so I just need to put the water on the hottest setting in the bath?

and also add in a few gallons (two or three big pots) of boiling water from the stove to this excessively hot tap water bath.
dont worry about boiling water being over 200 degrees and thus sterilizing instead of pasteurizing, because the substrate + hot tap water will bring the boiling water down in temp to about 160-180, which is your sweet spot. once this temp is reached, count down for an hour to two, then drain, cool, and spawn.
and remember, you want the core of the coir (ha-ha) to be this 160-180 range, not just the water around and outside the bag. a meat thermometer or other long probe type thermometer is perfect for this, to ensure even pasteurization.

^^ also a perfectly acceptable way i do the same in the oven with field capacity stuff in a pillowcase in the oven, to the same conclusion. though i might switch over to that jar method you mention shroomerite, sounds like i could fit more in the oven at once.
which is actually my preferred method (baking), i just dont mention it, because most ppl will preach against it. but hey, field capacity is field capacity, and pasteurization is pasteurization.

this guy i know uses an oven bag filled with prehydrated material and boils it in the pressure cooker. use a meat/candy thermometer. do it for about 2 and a half hours. works like a charm he says.
