I chopped 2 grams poured near boiling water over it stirred it for 5 minutes strained .Drank it. felt really funny couldn't stop smiling for about 5 minutes, had a feeling of being pulled into the shelves at k mart...then it left. Chowing down on the rest of my stock. What happened? Is there a chance that only some of them were subbs and the rest were foes so i didn't have but a tiny trip? Any ideas/ suggestions?
Ok i ate another 2 grams dried this time felt NOTHING...i'm 99% sure most of them were subs.I really don't think i miss ID'd they looked IDENTICAL ( people on this site ID'd them as well) I even observed a bit of blueing in some. What the hell happened?
Here are some pics of them..

it is always possible to misidentify some Panaeolina or even Psathyrella as Pan. subbalteatus if you don't print them all and aren't very familiar with them, and sometimes even if you are.
it is always worth bearing in mind that these things are just weak as hell sometimes.

Eat more than 2 grams. I usually eat around 6 to 7 dry grams of subbalteatus to have a good experience. Potency with subbs can greatly vary with substrate though, so it is good you started with a low dose. Next time try eating 4 to 5 grams. Also subbs have a slightly different feel to them than psilocybes. For me there's not as much body weirdness, and more euphoria. Not as spiritual and introspective as psilocybes but fuckin sweet!

EAt them, perhaps pouring hot water over them is causing the psilocin/psilocybin to degrade. Eat them fresh damnit! How can you have any pudding if you daint eat your subbs? Maybe theyre foes? hows the sporeprint, should be jet black.

I didn't print all of them but i'd say 80-90% of the ones i did were jet black...I think they were way to big to be foes ...and according to gumbys ID guide they were subbs...

2 grams dry , that will only work if where really potent subb , and maybe all blue in the base but i ate dry more that 7 grams sometimes they loose much of the potency simple because all panaeolus retain more water that psilocybe, and for this is more difficult to dry then fast, , and potency vary a lot from race to races, and from ground to ground, eat then fresh that the best, more that 30 specimens is a first good dose but like 50 is the orgasmic, fun enjoyable, experience...............

I believe you have a bunch of inactive psathyrellas in your collection. they can print jet black so that wouldnt help. Their stems are white and thick. also not snappy like a subbs red stem.

So at first when I was reading this I thought I made a huge mistake by throwing away about 120 mushrooms that looked just like the ones in your pictures.. black prints also. "OH SHIT I really had subbs!?" I'm glad they werent.
fuckin psathyrellas haha

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. Also he got a race car. Is any of this getting through to you?

Yea, those are Psathyrella. The shape of the cap, look of the gills, and smell is different in Panaeolus.
