I was wondering, if you have a rubbermaid container as a terrarium and u haven't put in a plexiglass window in the lid yet, can u just set the light on top of the lid, throw a towel over it, and let the dim glow that shines throught be enough of a light source for the mushies?? Thanks!!!

That should work fine, if not too well! Mushies don't need much light at all.

Maybe, thats a little hard to guess. What I do is make a little device that looks like a saran wrap picture with a cardboard frame (thats exactly what it is) and stick that over my terrarrium to provide them a couple minutes of regular old 60W light.

It would probably be better to saran wrap the top of the container and let the light shine through that until you get around to cutting a sunlight in the lid. That's what i did when i first started and it worked great. Don't mix towels and lights...(hello fire department!!)

Just cut a hole in the lid, and duct tape triple thick sterile saran wrap on both sides, works fine till you can improve your setup.
