Biking at night
    #7540945 - 10/20/07 10:11 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

Tripping is cool and everything, but many thing make up the general vibe of my life. One of my favorite is biking at night.

I have the luxury of living close to a bike trail that crosses the entire city I live in. Sometimes, after it gets dark, I get the itch. Ill shoot out of my apartment and go flying into the night silently. Ill see many awesome things; shooting stars, deer, office buildings, trains, giant concrete structures, factories.

Ill shoot past the junk yard and see cars left over from accidents that no one could have survived. Ill tromps through mud up to my knees. Ill bike twenty miles.

These things keep me awesome.

:stoner: + biking at night = my favorite thing to do

sometimes i leave on a bike at dusk and don't get home until about 3 in the morning, just exploring/toking/meeting people.

I used to bike at night when I lived in the city.  Nothing like not having to compete with pushy cars on an empty street when there is a sky full of stars above you.

I love biking at night, but I came within inches of getting hit with a big truck about a week and a half ago so I've been feeling iffy.

Definitely miss the bike trails in Alaska right now.

That sounds idyllic. I need to get my bike working again. But in my town, bikers are asking to be roadkill. However, they're putting in a 30-mile bike path from here to the next town sometime in the next year. I'll be mobile, then. I'll be cruising that thing 2 or 3 times a week.

I had a cop pull me over when I was 20 years old on a bike at night..they were watching me at my friends out front of his house. They could have arrested me but i was 3 blocks away from my house.
Cops in small towns in the early 1990's in Utah have nothing better to do..
BTW you can get a DUI riding on a horse.

I ride a bianchi san jose fixed gear. I love to ride it first thing in the morning when i get home from a night of partying. When the roads are quiet, I'll ride till the sun comes up and I am beat and ready for bed and the booze is out of my system.

I got these abandoned rail roads a 2 minute ride from my house, I can ride my bike 20 miles over to the state boarder. Along mountain sides and rivers, over bridges, along roads and back into the woods. So much weird stuff out there, abandoned tunnels and buildings. Huge cement buildings in the woods with forests growing inside the walls.

I need to fix my flat! Should get on that

Ive got a Kona Smoke. Its a great all around commuter bike. Its tough as hell, and was only like $250 at my local bike shop. Its worth the money, in my opinion. My secondary bike is a Schwinn Traveler from the 80s that I bought at goodwill for $19. I put a little work into it, and its also a great bike. I wouldn't buy anything new with the schwinn brand, as they where bought out and all their new stuff is crap. I would suggest you look at thrift stores if your getting into biking. You can get some nice stuff.
