    #7539302 - 10/20/07 01:24 PM (16 years, 3 months ago)

would it be OK to just use wbs as a substrate in a mono-tube and case it with verm/coir?

That has detains about soaking the grain to get some moisture. I hears someone sifted the WBS to get out sunflower seeds. I cant be exactly sure why though.

That's FooMan's WBS method

Usually you don't use WBS for substrate, you use it for spawning. Most people use whole organic grains like rye berries or wheat.

would it be better idea to spawn wbs to say some Tennessee stud poo and wheat.... and if so do you get it pre-pasteurized? and then how far will a five pound bag go..enough for one mono-tube?

uh, yeah. 5 pounds will get you a good many monotubs. and the rest sounds like an excellent idea.

I think it takes me 15-20 pounds pasteurized just to fill one
average sized monotub.

10 pounds is a normal sized filter patch bag about 75% full.

so that's about 3-5 pounds dry per monotub.
the monotub is a 21 gallon stack n' view.
same footprint as a normal 18 gallon tub, just taller.
