Casing harvest questions..

Ok so I just harvested my first cased monotub. Based on the wet wieght, it looks like I yielded about 1.5 oz from a 27 qt with a 4.5 inch substrate of PR strain. You can check http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7451390/page/0/fpart/all/vc/1here for info on the grow. I will have harvest pics up tomorrow probably.
Now my question: I screwed up my casing layer pretty bad during the harvest, meaning there are lots of divots and it's just torn up in general. Jeet told me to just patch it, but I need more info than that.
Right now, the tub is dunking, I haven't touched to casing yet. After it's done, I plan on picking off the remaing aborts I can get and throw a loose layer of 50/50 over the whole thing.
How does that sound? How long will it take the substrate to re-colonize the new casing?
I keep reading about scraping in my research, it sounds like it's a bad idea unless your casing layer is really messed up?
thanks everyone!

Fill in the divots with fresh casing material. Don't scratch or re-case the whole thing. The mycelium is in fruiting mode so won't colonize any casing material you add now. RR
