I always figured if acid were legalized, the commercials for it would be really weird.

Only the government is allowed to make and sell it?
If the government was making LSD it would make black market LSD much easier to get

now thats an idea! i don't think lsd would be the first one to be legalized, but i'll go along with your topic anyway. i'd imagine the commercials would be really weird, but then i'd imagine all the highschool kids being like "yeah! lets get fucked up on 'cid!" and going out and buying a shitload and using it like crazy because they know it's legal now. then it would develop an even worse name then before

I think it would be sold like a "cruises" are.
They would treat it just like a vacation. Very controlled, supervised, and "business like".
I could have a little fun.

So?
You don't think the most watched chemicals in the world are produced by 'governments' in the know?

If LSD was legal, anyone would be allowed to produce and sell it as, as far as I'm aware, Sandoz' patent on the chemical ran out a long time ago so now noone owns it. So you wouldn't be buying from the government.
LSD would be insanely cheap if it was legal. A single kilo is 10 million doses and any chemist with the skills would be easily able to make that much.
LSD legalisation, if it was preceded by intensive drugs education, would be incredibly positive, as would the legalisation of all drugs. If people were taught from a very young age, and throughout their lives, about responsible, intelligent drug use rather than told "Just say no", the war on drugs could easily be ended.
Any end to the war on drugs would create a better situation than the one we have right at the moment, in my opinion.

for some reason, I always imagine a TV ad for LSD as being very modern Japanese style with strobing colors and some Japanese guy shouting:
"SUPA HAPPY TRIPPY LSDaru! FOR YOU!!! BUY NOW!"
at the top of his lungs

LOL
That reminds me of a moment in Widespread Panics the "earth will swallow you" DVD. There's an oriental screaming that type of thing with a card-board sign, I always imagined him as the acid dealer of the parking lot.

I was wondering about this. I'd think you'd have to have your psyche examined and then you'd get it like a prescription. Or maybe have to pass various tests on top of that, and get a card enabling you to buy a certain amount of acid per week.

Yeah. I think it'd just be best for it to stay illegal. Maybe they could just stop arresting us, but not tell the general public so we would not get tons of dumbshits abusing the shit.

I have been caught with LSD by a federal agent, I had 5 hits, the other 5 where roaming thru my friends and I's heads. He told us to pretend we'd never seen him and have a nice night and not to bother anyone. The U.S.A. has bigger fish to fry and are not bothered by simple users. New, idiot cops are the only ones pushing stupid busts and even then with good lawyers and money stupid silliness is pushed out of courts in know time. You'd have to be an idiot or careless to have LSD imprinted on your record.

Good to hear. I'm not into taking psychedelics anymore but I'll always be a big fan of them and it warms my heart to know that the stuff out there now is good.
