Not that i have noted. Any one else?
water breaks down psilocybin/psilocin thats a fact
cant imagine the water doing much damage to the potency if the mushrooms are only being rinsed and not soaked for a long period of time. people do make tea with mushrooms, drink it and have a psychadelic experience. and thats water and heat, so i guess a rinse and a spin dry wouldnt harm the potency
Fonda, i think thats an awesome idea but i do agree that the water should be poured asap.let that mycelium start growing now, maybe your season will start early next year

when you make tea that is a prime example of water taking psilocybin/psilocin out of the mushrooms, it goes into the water which is why people get high on the tea
i dont think a quick rinse and spin would hurt though

yeah, i'm sure after brewing them, the mushrooms would be nothing but an inactive source of nutrition but would that be considered 'breaking down' or 'extracting' the psilocybin/psilocin (or is that the same thing?)

I'm doing that if I ever find any actives, I know too many good habitats with no fruit.
Does it help the drying process any to spin them?

I am sure that a rinse will not hurt the psilocybin/psilocin content I mean after all don't they get rinsed everyday it rains in nature?

That's what I was about to post. They get rained on a lot and sometimes it downpours on them.

I think the water must be a hot to extract the psilocybin, otherwise people would just put mushrooms in water for a day then drink that glass of water.. What would be the point of tea, then? This is just theory.. Maybe you can trip off putting mushies in cold water for a day, but I've never tried.

every time my buddy makes tea he makes it in room temperature water, you dont have to heat it thats a myth.
YOu can just throw sum shrooms in the water and let it soak for 30 mins then drink, make sure they are cut up before putting them in the water.

Hmm, I'll have to try that. Does he believe it to be pretty potent? & Does he eat the mushies when he is done drinking the concoction?

Yes they do get rinsed in nature, but its a FACT that water decreases potency...whether the mushies get rained on or wet sum other way.
The first weilii i ever tried had been rained on and had turned completely blue all over, i tripped my ass off on them but I was such a noob back then that i couldnt notice the difference in potency.
I guess it just comes down to experience.

i think there needs to be more surface area (powdered) to extract it
