smells like bacteria

ok so i got a small casing that smells like it is infected with some sort of bacteria. it smelled like myc just a few days ago when i cased, and it seems to be healthy other than the smell. i dont think the casing layer is contaminated either because it is just verm and was sterilized. so i guess what my question is, will the shrooms that grow from this casing (im sure they are going to grow) be ok.

You obviously haven't done many manure grows.
I wouldn't worry about it. Keep a careful eye out for molds and discoloration, but bacteria usually won't be strong enough to fight off myc growing from spawn.

Bacteria is not usually a problem with casing layers. There is nothing in vermiculite to rot, so you might just be smelling stale air. Increase air exchange. RR
