heimia blood red pests

Heya folks,

My hemia plant has some sort of bright red powder that makes it drop new growth. I tried tea tree soap, which removed the fuzz, but made the plant drop leaves even worse. I washed the soap off this morning and it looks pretty sorry....HELP!?

THanks
Oreandra

try unscented ivory soap bar(size of thumbnail and thick as your thumb under it) dissolved in hot water bottle. (test this mixture on one leaf and see how it does)

im guessing the soap you used was way 2 strong. did you spray both sides of the leaf? did you gently hold the leaf as you sprayed it?

how is your soil, light, and humidity conditions?

THanks for the quick reply!!I diluted about half with water and it was left on overnight. I note no oily residue, but the leaves look bruised. The pest was a non-mobile red powder along the undersides of the leaves along the stems. I think it may have been a fungus. None of my other plants are showing signs of it. Sad because the plant was just getting settled in.
