looks awesome! with the HPS light, do you find that your plants tend to be more stretched out than, say, sunlight?

sunlight is of course many many times better unless it is cloudy or they have been blocking out the sun with chemtrials. or if you have a yard like mine with the sun blocked by trees

yeah man that should work pretty good. it wont have the penetrating power of a 1000w even if you had 3 400 w bulbs plus the 400w bulbs get 38,000 lumens and the 1000 w hortilux gets 145,000 lumens I wouldn't trust ebay cheap light deals man. in the long run you are better off shelling out the $350 and getting a good 1000w setup. but if you do buy the cheap one put the ballast in front of a box fan to help it stay cool and prevent the windings from melting. keep them cool and they will last forever. oh shit oops I see you got it already well does it run both bulbs at once ??? did it come with both bulbs??? replace them as soon as you can for some Hortilux bulbs

I ordered it, it probably won't come till late next week, but I'm going out of town so I wont be able to play with it till the following week. I don't have all that much money, and just need something to bring my peppers in for the winter.
I will make sure to have a little shop fan blowing over the ballast, thanks for the tip, and I meant HID setup, not HPS

yep, sorry about that
*I was looking up those hortilux bulbs you mentioned, and I found this conversion bulb that could come in useful for when I'm satisfied with the size of my plants and want to focus on producing as many peppers as possible: mod edit: no non sponsor links!!
