It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus.
All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the
octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV.
But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns.
Also he got a race car.
Is any of this getting through to you?

As long as they get more food (wood chips) they should fruit again, though perhaps not till next season.

I brought a few chip samples from the patch I got them in a paper bag. Is there a way to tell by the mycelium if it is for sure cyan mycelium? I mean why ellse would the patch be ripped up.

The best way to tell is if you find them growing there. Hehehe, there are many reasons that colonized wood chips might be all fucked up. Racoons love to dig for worms in there, if it is next to a street, a car might have run it over, if it is near a park someone might have been roughing around and stumbled/kicked it on accident.
I would not assume it is cyan mycelium.

if patches get raped thats why you rescue them and transplant them!
