Just because this area isn't mentioned often when it comes to hunting cyans, I thought I would post separately from the PNW thread.
Me and CptnGarden found these today:

thanks concrete.
yeah we searched the forums for port angeles and the surrounding towns and found little to no info about hunting cyans here, except that mushroomjohn said that grow in this area. we hunted for days, there were thousands of finds in seattle happening and we werent seeing anything so we went for some long car trips to the hood canal and the clearcuts in the surrounding areas.
ugh, gas money!
it always seems to be that when u go looking in far places and find nothing, you come home only to discover they are in a neighbors yard or something lol
we searched and searched and searched, came home frustrated, and finally agreed on our way home that we would let them find us instead of trying to find them. everytime i find cyans, im just walking, and happen to look down by my feet they are never usually growing on the desired substrate when i find them so i dont bother looking, this time they actually are. usually they are found by accident though.
still, im gonna go eat some food right now and head to work. ill take some pics of the patch and post it all when i get home tonight.
glad to know were not the only one whos had luck in this area.

P. pelliculosa is everywhere around that town and there are many clearcuts within a few miles to a few tens of miles. i found them easily even in fir forest, and with all the greater ease along trail-sides.
